Rev. Robert Blumenstock, Associate

Rev. Robert Blumenstock Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Sacramento, CA

This is the second time that Robert has served as an associate at Trinity Cathedral. He was born and reared in Bakersfield Ca. He has an Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration from Bakersfield College. He graduated from S. F. State in 1969 and worked in the stock market in San Francisco. He went from there to the elections industry working as a programmer writing and running elections (punch card ballots). Robert feels that a business background has always been a valuable foundation for his ministry.

In 1985 Robert and his family sold a house in the Berkeley hills to attend Virginia Theological Seminary. While there he did two years field work at St. Mark’s, Capitol Hill. After graduation he was ordained a deacon at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco and was ordained a priest at Trinity, Mobile, Alabama and served as Curate there.  Before returning to California 18 years ago, Robert was the Rector of St. Andrew’s, New Bedford Massachusetts and Interim Rector of Our Saviour, Somerset, Massachusetts. In this diocese he was Vicar of St. Luke’s Galt, Interim Rector at St. Mary’s Elk Grove, and Interim Rector at Trinity Sutter Creek.

Robert and his wife Doni have been married 40 years and have three daughters and four grandchildren. He volunteers at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and is owned by a Golden Doodle named Sweet Pea. His passions for ministry are preaching, healing, pastoral care, and stewardship. He has served on the Diocesan Council and as the Stewardship officer for this diocese. He has also served as the chair of the Evangelism Committee for the Diocese of Massachusetts.

Robert’s wife Doni runs leadership programs in the region.
